Emirates Stadium was named Best Commercial Leisure Scheme at the Retail and Leisure Property Awards in July 2007.

The ceremony, which was organised by the Shop Agents Society, the Leisure Property Forum and Property Week, celebrated excellence across the retail and leisure sectors.

Arsenal’s stadium, which opened in July 2006, was up against the revamped Millennium Dome, now known as the O2 Arena, the rebuilt Wembley Stadium, Spitalfields and River Quarter.

It is the seventh time the Emirates has been honoured since construction began in February 2004. Other awards include Best Built Project Contributing to London’s Future, Project of the Year (2007 Building Awards), Mayor’s Award for Planning Excellence (both 2006 Planning Awards) and Best Mixed-Use Regeneration Project (Building Design Regeneration Awards 2006).
